We are proud to recognize two former SRCCC residents, MacKenzie B. and Teressa S., whose original poems were selected for publication in the 27th edition of Beginnings, an annual writing series that showcases adult student work.
Beginnings is published in collaboration with the Ohio Literacy Resource Center at Kent State University and has celebrated the writing achievements of Aspire program participants since 1998. Aspire students of all ages are invited to submit original poetry, personal essays, narratives, and even cover artwork for consideration.
This year, hundreds of entries were submitted, and only 75 were selected for publication—two of which came from our talented young writers here at SRCCC. This is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to their creativity and hard work.
Congratulations, MacKenzie and Teressa—we’re proud of you!
