Stark Regional Community Center (SRCCC) proudly announces that two of its most dedicated employees, Garland Snow and Jennifer Ascani, have been selected as 2025 Programming Staff Employees of the Year. This well-deserved recognition celebrates their unwavering commitment to student success, tireless work ethic, and extraordinary impact on adult learners pursuing their GEDs.
Leaders in Lifelong Learning
Garland Snow and Jennifer Ascani have become pillars of the SRCCC community. Both have gone above and beyond in their roles as adult education instructors, helping countless individuals achieve their personal and professional goals through education. Their dedication has not only resulted in improved academic performance but also in renewed confidence and life-changing opportunities for their students.
Garland Snow, known for his calm presence and supportive teaching style, has worked with students from a variety of backgrounds, many of whom were returning to school after years away. His classroom is a place of patience, persistence, and progress.
“Mr. Snow never gives up on his students,” said one recent graduate. “He made me believe I could do this — and now I have my GED. I’m enrolling in a trade program next.”
Jennifer Ascani is equally admired for her enthusiasm, high expectations, and deep compassion for every learner. She is especially known for her creative lessons and personalized support strategies that help students tackle difficult material with confidence.
“Ms. Ascani creates an environment where students feel seen, heard, and empowered,” shared one colleague. “She doesn’t just teach—she inspires.”
Changing Lives Through Education
Between them, Snow and Ascani have helped many students successfully prepare for and pass the GED exam. Their impact, however, goes far beyond test scores. They are mentors and motivators who understand that many adult learners face unique challenges and sometimes doubt their own potential.
“Helping someone get their GED is about more than academics,” said Ascani. “It’s about rebuilding confidence and showing them that it’s never too late to succeed.”
Snow added, “Every student has a story. We’re here to listen, support, and remind them they’re capable of more than they think.”
A Well-Earned Recognition
SRCCC’s administration praised both educators for their excellence and commitment. “Garland and Jennifer embody everything we stand for at SRCCC—equity, access, and empowerment through education,” said Director Mike Beebe. “They’ve changed lives and uplifted our entire learning community.”
Snow and Ascani were formally recognized at SRCCC’s annual Employee Appreciation Ceremony this month. Still, both educators say the real reward is watching their students earn their GED diploma and gain a renewed sense of purpose in their hearts.
Their story serves as a powerful reminder that behind every successful student is a teacher who believed in them—often before they believed in themselves.
